July 15 - face-to-face with the client
Everyone was down, dressed business casual for our morning tube commute to our client. From our hotel to Buro Happold took us through the Bank Tube Station. Bank is akin to the Orange Crush or the 405 by LAX. Always super crowded. The tube train we needed to take was so crowded that it took 3 separate trains to get our group to our destination. We all tried to get on the same train, but the cars were so very full and the tube was so very humid with packed humanity that it was very very uncomfortable and impossible for us all to get on the same train at the same time.
We finally arrived and were given a general overview of the company, an overview of the Living City concept, and then re-presented our concepts to them. We also had the opportunity to measure (in metrics) the exhibition space so that we can start designing to scale.
We then left their office and went to the Transport Museum to see and learn more about exhibit design. Some of our group had to return to Buro to meet with the marketing team, as they were not available earlier, while the rest continued in the museum.
It was very warm and sunny again all day in London, intellectually and physically we were tired. All returned to the hotel, refreshed, and headed off in various directions for dinner.
